What does PEF do?

Worship Every Friday night at 7:30PM, we get together for our large group meeting in Murray-Dodge Hall. During the meeting we sing songs together, pray together, and listen to a message given by one of the staff members (you can check out some of the messages here). Afterwards, everyone can stick around to grab some refreshments and to catch up with one another after a long week of work.

Bible Study PEF has small group Bible studies for all students, usually divided up by class year and gender. The groups are led by PEF staff and cover a four-year curriculum intended to help you know and understand the overarching themes of the Bible, how to approach individual Biblical books, and how to tackle difficult questions in light of the Scripture. Past topics have included the salvation plan from Genesis to Revelation, the books of Ephesians and Mark, and how to prepare for life after graduation. Small group Bible study is a great opportunity to grow in your Scripture knowledge and it also provides a deeper community of friendship and accountability that can foster and accelerate your growth as a Christian.

One-on-One Discipleship One of PEF’s core commitments is to offer personal discipleship to everyone who is involved with PEF. The staff are available to meet with you every week and they will work to figure out an individual, regularly scheduled time to meet together. “Personal hour,” as we call it, is personal, and no two personal hours look exactly the same, but usually they involve Bible study, further discussion of topics that interest or challenge you in your faith, personal counsel, and finally, prayer.

Student Teams Many of the weekly, monthly, and yearly activities of PEF are coordinated through our student-led ministry teams. There are seven different teams–Communications, Fellowship, Missions, Outreach, Prayer, Service, and Worship–and you can find out more about them here. By being involved in leadership and organization for the fellowship, PEF seeks to train and enable you to go out and to serve the larger Christian community, wherever your life takes you after graduation.

Yearly Events Aside from our regular activities on campus, PEF organizes several special events throughout the year. There are retreats before each semester, conferences in the spring and fall, and service and missions opportunities over the breaks. To see what is upcoming at PEF, check out this link.
